Even though this song is a cover of an old Gary Glitter song, and has been glorified in a popular Oasis song, "Hello," the Mono Puff version takes on a whole new meaning in my mind.

The song itself seems to be about two people in a relationship, even though both participants in the relationship wanted to stay together, and one of them finally decided to return to the other.

However, Mono Puff give it an almost sinister overtone, that makes me think that maybe the continuation of this relationship is not for the best. Or maybe even a big mistake.

It kind of reminded me of all of those "internet relationships" that people are always complaining about. Two people who live far apart geographically (Alaska and Florida...or West Alton, MO and Alton, IL because if you can't drive it IS kinda far (especially if, like me, you aren't allowed to cross the state line on your bicycle...)) and they fall in love, using e-mail or AOL or any number of things (though you didn't SEE me at all). Anyway, they've exchanged photos maybe, though they haven't really SEEN each other...then one of them is unable to use the computer for a while (polar bear attack or injured in an alligator stampede, perhaps)...anyway (I seem to use that word a lot...) when the estranged one returns...they notice that they don't get a very enthusiastic greeting and they ask the other person if they were missed...
